Alexander McQueen S/S12

I live...I F***ING LIVE! Excuse my poor language but it's not everyday that a designing sucessor, ie. Sarah Burton, kills a collection in the name of a genius such as McQueen. This blend of all things aquatic, morbid and structured has left me utterly speechless. Visit Style.com for more images.

2011 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Honours Alexander McQueen

Last night's theme was Alexander Mcqueen Savage Beauty and the celebs did not disappoint. Here are some of my favourite looks:

From top to bottom: Anna Dello Russo in a tuxedo by Sarah Burton, Demi Moore in Prabal Gurung, Jay-Z in Tom Ford, Beyonce in Emilio Pucci, Janelle Monae in Chanel, Solange Knowles in Dries Van Noten, Anna Wintour in Chanel, Kanye West in Tory Burch and Serena Williams in Oscar de la Renta

Nick Knight's Tribute to Alexander McQueen

Yesterday Alexander McQueen was posthumously awarded with the Oustanding Achievement in Fashion Design award at the British Fashion Awards and was honoured with a breath-taking tribute video "To Lee, With Love, Nick," by photographer Nick Knight-featuring styling done by Edward Enninful. Knight expressed having the need do to a video of McQueen's most iconic pieces before The Metropolitan Museum of Art takes the collection for an exhibit they have planned for in the spring.

The visuals are absolutely beautiful and Bjorks vocals are more than fitting. Enjoy!

McQueen's Morning Glory!

This morning I awoke to these beautiful images on Highsnobette. The Spring 2011 bag collection from Alexander is looking gorgeous. I believe Sarah Burton is doing a great job as his successor. Although McQueen's aesthetic remains unmatched, Burton has given me no cause for complaint. I wish her all the best.

Below are the pics of my absolute favourites, hint, hint.

Lady Gaga in McQueen at the VMA's

Lady Gaga looked absolutely beautiful in an Alexander McQueen gown at the MTV Video Music Awards last night. It saddens me that this collection will be McQueen's very last as he is one of my favourite designers. Although I'm sure Sarah Burton will do a wonderful job as his successor, his talent is unmatched and will never be forgotten.
